"Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.  It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."  http://www.dol.gov/laborday/history.htm

I LOVE Labor Day weekend.  It's one of those holidays that transitions you into another season.  Aside from celebrating the achievements of America's workers, it gives us a reason to have those remarkable cookouts, gatherings, festivals, parades, and more.

Naturally, we start to wind down from the summer sensations and prepare for the FABulous Fall.  The weather starts to get cooler or tolerable, stores market the upcoming season's fashion trend, the kids go back to school, spring and summer flings tend to look or feel more permanent, our attitudes change about working with the new hair color and new outfits, and the need to harvest or prepare for the holiday season begins.

It's amazing how a holiday can impact our lives.  How does Labor Day  impact your life?
